About Polarity Therapy

Randolph Stone February 26, — December 9, was the founder of polarity therapy , a complementary technique of holistic, spiritually based energy healing. Stone was born Rudolph Bautsch in in Austria. He immigrated with his family to the United States in and changed his name to Randolf Stone in the s. Dissatisfied with Western approaches, he also began traveling and studying non-Western medical practices. He had a successful private practice in Chicago and he also worked for about 10 years in a clinic in India. Stone spent the last eight years of his life with his niece Louise Hilger in a house at the Radha Soami center in Beas, India.

Polarity Therapy and Biodynamics

As a scientific inquiry in health care is increasingly attuned to a holistic context, greater appreciation for integrative approaches to body, mind, emotions, and spirit has evolved. One result is the development of new "specialty" fields such as psychoneuroimmunology. Many of these newer approaches to health care are reflective of the ancient medical wisdom throughout many cultures, with a core idea being an energy-based understanding of healing and transformation. Polarity Therapy is one of these approaches, having a well developed theoretical foundation combined with a broad spectrum of techniques used to facilitate client growth. A significant body of literature suggests that changes in the human energy field are responsible for both degeneration into disease as well as healing, recovery, and personal psycho-spiritual development. While substantial documentation of the human energy field exists, too little is currently known about the mechanism for movement of energy in the body. Eabry summarizes recent studies suggesting biogenic magnetite may be an important factor in energy currents in the body.

Polarity Therapy: A Comprehensive System In The Energy-Based Healing Arts

Polarity Therapy is a comprehensive health system involving energy-based bodywork, diet, exercise and self-awareness. It works with the Human Energy Field, electromagnetic patterns expressed in mental, emotional and physical experience. In Polarity Therapy, health is viewed as a reflection of the conditiion of the energy field, and therapeutic methods are designed to balance the field for health benefit. Polarity Therapy was developed by Randolph Stone, DO, DC, ND , who conducted a thorough investigation of energy in the healing arts over the course of his 60 year medical career. Drawing information from a wide range of sources, he found that the Human Energy Field is affected by touch, diet, movement, sound, attitudes, relationships, life experience, trauma and environmental factors. Since Polarity Therapy lends an energy-based perspective to all these subjects, the scope of Polarity practice is often very broad, with implications for health professionals in many therapeutic disciplines. As a result, Polarity has strong, mutually supportive connections to many other holistic health systems.
