Why is there no bestiary for fourth edition? What's the rationale behind this? Someone please tell me. Originally Posted by Nater Potater. The rationale, I believe, is that they haven't good a sufficiently good offer. I'm fairly certain Kromm has stated as much on his blog.

Regarding the COV virus and its effects: Things are frustrating, and confusing, and scary. People dream up conspiracy theories to help make sense of things. They're not helpful, though, and only serve to make the world more confusing and scarier. We're not going to have that here. And we swear to God, if anyone comes in here and starts spouting off QAnon bullshit about COVID or literally anything else, you are going to get permabanned so thoroughly that your grandchildren won't be allowed to post here.
Thread starter Biohazard Start date Jul 19, Tags bestiaries gurps. Biohazard mostly lurking Validated User. The thread title is probably already self-explanatory, I don't own the old bestiary and do not see the point in buying it, as it will probably become obsolete in half a year, so I was wondering, if anybody knows: - when the new version will be available - or how easy to convert the old stuff will be Biohazard, still wondering if he shouldn't buy the old version.
I'm thinking the stats in Bestiary for 3e will be pretty well useless for 4e. The animal and poison rules will likely be quite different, too, so all you'd really be getting is a catalog of animals with descriptions. If that's what you want, great. I don't own the Bestiary, either, but was never interested in it. I do have Fantasy Bestiary, and was underwhelmed. I'd wait for Fourth Edition to come out.
Shumway My mom says I'm handsome. Biohazard said:. Since I haven't seen the new rules, I don't know how easy it will be to convert. SJG has announced the release schedule for 4E products through January , and Bestiary isn't on it, so it will be at least February before its out, unless something changes.
I wouldn't be entirely surprised if it wasn't late or into Thanks for the answers! I will probably wait for the forth edition and have a look at the new animal-examples Shumway said:. It seems likely that the animals secion of Basic 4e will be far more complete than the pathetic chapter from 3e which I still got more use out of than Bestiary.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a good selection of mundane animals plus some fantasy standards. You must log in or register to reply here.
